We acknowledge the Djab Wurrung and Jardwadjali people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the gallery and gardens are located. We honour their ongoing care and connection to the lands and waters of Gariwerd, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Plan your trip

We are Australia’s first space dedicated to environmental art in all its forms.

Our 16-hectare precinct, encompasses the National Centre for Environmental Art (our gallery), Gariwerd/Grampians Gardens, Gariwerd/Grampians Endemic Garden, Jallakur Grasslands, ephemeral wetlands, outdoor artworks, a shop, and more in the works.

There are no public transport options to the site, meaning that the best way to reach us is by car. We are approximately a six-minute drive from Halls Gap, 90 minutes from Ballarat, or three hours from Melbourne.

Plan a road trip and make the most of the region: explore the environment, be awestruck by ancient rock art sites, visit a winery (or three), and end the day by staying with a local accommodation provider.
