We acknowledge the Djab Wurrung and Jardwadjali people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the gallery and gardens are located. We honour their ongoing care and connection to the lands and waters of Gariwerd, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Explore an abundance of flora, fauna and artworks.

The Wama Foundation exists on a sprawling, 16-hectare site that encompasses the Gariwerd/Grampians Endemic Garden, the Jallukar Grasslands, ephemeral wetlands, outdoor artworks and wildlife.

In the garden itself, more than five-hundred plants and almost sixty species flourish. Over half can only be found in the surrounding region, and many are rare, endangered or critically endangered, meaning that this space serves a greater purpose than just being beautiful to look at: it’s also preserving the region’s biodiversity and natural assets. Wander through at your own pace on a self-guided tour and experience these oft-remotely located plants in one place – something you won’t get anywhere else – and keep your eyes peeled for outdoor artworks as you go.
