Dr Deanne Gilson is a proud Wadawurrung artist, Blak designer, Cultural educator and mother.

Gilson’s practice is inspired by the birds, trees, bush foods, and healing plants of Wadawurrung Dja (Country). Through her practice, she reclaims and amplifies ancestral knowledge, centred on the wisdom carried through her matriarchal lineage.

Through yarning, painting and making from Country, Gilson deepens cultural knowledge-sharing and illuminates the notion that all is connected.
